TEAM NEWS
Coach Emilio Ferrera has been pleased with OH Leuven’s winter training camp as it resulted in no injuries and ensured that his men are physically ready for the final nine games to avoid relegation. In centre back Kanu, who has some Pro League experience having played for Standard Liege from 2011 to 2014, and right back Jean Calve from SM Caen, the club have added two defenders to the squad while David Vandenbroeck was found surplus to requirements and was released on a free transfer. Striker Jovan Kostovski has signed a new contract which keeps him at OHL until 2019.
Kortrijk’s coach Johan Walem has based his season around a strong defence as the team have only conceded 27 in 21 games so far. Defender Baptist Ulens has left on loan and Zarko Tomasevic has departed for KV Oostende while centre back Benoit Poulain has also expressed his wish to leave; it is uncertain if he will be in the line-up on Saturday. No attackers have been signed yet, which means the lack of goals by the worst attack in the division remains unsolved. On top of that striker Thanasis Papazoglou is suspended. Midfielders Midfielders Nebojsa Pavlovic, Birger Verstraete and Gertjan De Mets are doubtful.

MATCH PREVIEW
After a poor October and November, OH Leuven ended last year more positively with two wins and one draw in December, leaving them in 15th place and three points ahead of basement dwellers Westerlo. Having won the last two home games against KV Mechelen (3-1) and Westerlo (5-1), another victory could be crucial to stay ahead of Westerlo whilst putting other teams under pressure.
KV Kortrijk meanwhile are likely to miss out on a Championship playoff spot and are out of the Belgian Cup, but they are nine points ahead of Westerlo. Nevertheless, it looks like the season is already over, which was further highlighted by the fact that Kortrijk were one of only a few Belgian teams that didn’t go to Spain during to winter break to prepare for the final matches. Johan Walem expressed his frustration about the squad’s performance in the training camp in Belgium and captain Gertjan De Mets has voiced his concern about the bad atmosphere in the team, whose last away victory dates back to the end of August.
With Kortrijk having issues and OH Leuven being on a roll with new coach Ferrera, I’ll go for a home win.
HEAD TO HEAD
The teams’ last encounter at Kortrijk ended in a goalless draw while Leuven are now nine consecutive matches without a win.
